Aphie Amams RSS
Hello everyone, my name is Aphie Amams. I am a certified school nurse, I obtained my nursing degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2005. I am a proud mom of a 20 years brilliant young man, who graduated from East Orange Campus High School in 2008, and now a senior at Montclair State University, majoring in pre medical sciences.
I have execellent interpersonal skills, a good team player, very compassionate and a hard worker. My biggest strenght is family support. At my leisure time, I like to cook delicious African dishes, and watch home movies.
The most interesting part of my life is my career. Nursing is my passion, I started practicing nursing at the age of 6 yrs old, taking care of my grand mother when she is sick, using my little fingers and palm to apply herbal ointments on her dry achy body, My grandmother strongly believes in me, "she always said I would be a great doctor when I grow up", and every body in the family calls me doctor of the house. I am highly inspired by her powerful thoughts, hopes and dreams.
At Fresh Start Academy middle/high school, I am responsible for the health needs of the students and staff.
My responsibility is to promote health and safety, intervaine with the actual and potential health problems, as well as liaison with the community. Major part of my duty is to  perform health assessment /screening and refer students for health conditions, as well as maintaining contacts with parents, educating and giving feedback on students health and behavioral issues.
I am instrumental in providing the best quality health care to the students and staff, so feel free to stop at the health office with your concerns and needs, you are welcome any time.
